Security guard roles are many and varied. Some can be pretty boring, others downright dangerous. The best places for a security guard role largely depend on the type of person you are and your own preferences.

All things considered, where are the best places to be a security guard?

Working Alone

If you prefer to work alone with little or no contact with the public, working in areas where you’re patrolling for intruders is as good a role as any. These jobs can be anything from guarding building sites to the grounds of factories and laboratories.

In these places you find yourself patrolling the perimeter for hours, knowing that if you run into anyone they’re there without permission and you need to act. If you prefer interaction with the public, however, these roles will probably leave you cold. Indoors or Outdoors?

Of course, an indoor role doesn’t come with these requirements, so if you’re working inside a factory or superstore you might find yourself in an office with a bank of CCTV screens.
